School of Music

Music Admissions

An audition is required for admission into the School of Music as a music major, music minor, or to take private lessons as a non-music major. The audition also determines music scholarship awards. Students wanting to audition for Fall 2025 admission to the School of Music should follow the steps below. The two in-person audition days are Saturday, February 8, 2025, and Saturday, March 1, 2025. There is also an option to submit a virtual audition; the virtual audition portal will open for submissions on January 21, 2025. Please contact Angela Satterfield at 615-898-2469 or askmusic@mtsu.edu if you have questions.
