Student Musician Referrals
Looking for live music for an upcoming event, private music instruction, or a clinician? The MTSU School of Music can help with MTSU Musician Referrals. Whether it’s a string quartet for your wedding, a jazz combo for a conference or reception, or a private piano teacher or a clinician for your school, we understand that every note counts.
The MTSU School of Music connects individuals, schools, organizations, and community partners with student musicians available for performances, clinics, and private lessons.
Request a Musician
MTSU musicians are available year-round. We recommend submitting your request at least three weeks in advance of your event or desired date to allow time to identify available musicians.
Once a connection has been made, all scheduling, services, terms, and payments are arranged directly between you and the musician.

General Pricing Guidelines
The following rates are provided for general reference. Actual rates may vary depending on the date and time, instrumentation, location, musician experience, and specific needs of the engagement.
Events and Performances
- $100 to $150 per musician for up to 2 hours
- $50 to $75 per musician for each additional hour
Private Lessons
- $25 to $40 per 30-minute lesson, depending on instrument, teacher experience, and location
Clinics
- $100 to $150, depending on length, instrument, clinician experience, and location
All scheduling, terms, and payments are arranged directly with the student musician.
