School of Music
About our Facilities
The MTSU School of Music is housed in two adjoining buildings: The Saunders Fine Arts building and the Wright Music building. We have a 387-seat concert hall and 11 master classrooms. Our students have access to 23 general practice rooms, 4 grand piano practice rooms, and 6 percussion practice rooms. We also have multiple computer workstations and available study spaces and printer access points throughout the buildings. Music majors and minors have 24-hour access to the music buildings 7 days a week. Please click the School of Music Tour button above for a virtual tour of our music facilities.
All music majors are encouraged to become a part of the unique community in the Monohan Complex (Schardt and Reynolds Halls), open to music majors from audition to graduation. Musicians of all kinds find a place to come together within this community. Living among students of similar interests, talents, and academic requirements, you will find support and camaraderie. Students will have access to faculty mentors and will have an opportunity to interact with visiting artists from a variety of disciplines. This community enables music majors to integrate the academic, social, and artistic aspects of their lives. This community also offers the unique experience of having a music professor in residence who lives in Monohan. While participation of this Living Learning Community’s programming and events is not exclusive, you will receive suggested floor locations for this community upon receipt of your self-assignment email.
